⚙️ Mechanical Integration & Shaft Installation: The GTS208 features optical shafts on both ends. High-precision elastic couplings are highly recommended to connect the sensor to your motor and load. Ensure the concentricity error between the motor shaft, sensor shaft, and load shaft is strictly below 0.03mm to prevent shear fatigue. To avoid electrical noise, always wire the signal-common using the dedicated white GND connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What makes non-contact torque sensors better than contact slip-ring types?
Traditional slip-ring torque sensors use carbon brushes that wear out quickly at high speeds, generate frictional heat, and require frequent brush replacements. GTS208's brushless non-contact design uses high-frequency telemetry, resulting in zero friction, zero wear, high speed up to 8000 RPM, and an infinite operational lifespan.
2. Does the GTS208 measure rotational speed and mechanical power simultaneously?
Yes. GTS208 measures both torque and rotational speed (forward and reverse directions, standard 60 pulses/rev) in real-time. When selecting our integrated OLED indicator display option, the internal microchip automatically computes and displays torque, speed, and real-time mechanical power ($P = 2 \pi \cdot n \cdot T / 60$) on one screen.
3. Why is concentricity alignment crucial during GTS208 shaft installation?
Since dynamic torque sensors experience high-speed rotation, concentricity errors between your motor, the sensor, and the load will generate excessive shear forces and bending moments. This will cause measurement drift or even fracture the 17-4PH stainless steel shaft. We highly recommend using double elastic couplings and aligning concentricity within 0.03 mm.
4. How do I prevent electromagnetic interference from motor frequency inverters?
Inverters generate intense high-frequency harmonics. To prevent signal noise, always connect the GTS208 using our 5-meter high-density double-shielded cable. Additionally, the signal ground (GND) must be wired to the white terminal, and the sensor body should be solidly grounded to your test bench frame.
5. What digital and analog output protocols are standard on the GTS208?
GTS208 outputs a standard 10±5KHz frequency signal for torque and a 60-pulse square wave for speed. For integration with PLCs or industrial computers, we offer custom dual outputs combining analog current (4-20mA), voltage (0-10V / ±10V), and digital RS485 (supporting Modbus RTU) or RS232 protocols.
